Interoperability

Interoperability is the ability to share and manage information between devices and information systems within and across organisational boundaries. In the context of interoperability for Health and Local government it’s the connecting of all Health and Social services to seamlessly share information.

Interoperability is important because it allows important information to be shared as appropriate to meet the needs of patients and organisations, as opposed to being held in the silo of a specific software application, device, healthcare or local authority.

Healthcare and Social Care organisations use diverse IT software and hardware solutions – which are typically obtained from a variety of vendors from across the world.

Recently “The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has highlighted the lack of national interoperability standards after shadowing front-line staff during an overnight shift.”

TDiM provides the mechanism vis the Fiorano SOA platform to achieve full interoperability for the Health and Social Care sector across the whole of the UK

Three examples of complex large scale interoperability deployment of the Fiorano SOA Platform covering all aspects of the Interoperability requirements are NHS Wales National Systems Integration, US Coast Guard and Kent County Council. and the Delaware Coparation. The platform is extensively deployed to handle integration across different geographical localities and Long term condition (LTC) functionalities without major code changes in the integration layer. The platform will allow clients to add any care settings/organisation’s to the integration layer developers with requirements from business users. Utilising the Fiorano eStudio which is  ITK certified we can route the actual messages to and from the system and any of the newly added care settings/organisation’s as and when required.
